Martin Margiela Makes Fashion and Life Size Magazines

(because with all the magazines failing)

(you need a life size magazine to save it)

Beyonce World Takeover According to Forbes Magazine

Beyonce arrives at the 81st Annual Academy Awards held -- Feb. 22, 2009.

(Beyonce’s Entertainment Empire… sounds a little scary)

(and yes that is a House of Dereon dress she is wearing)

Some how she turned herself from just a singer and into a brand. Earning money left and right and her clothing line is doing well with high end couture as well as mass market clothes. So how does she do it? Forbes attempts to mind someones else’s business to find out.

The Retro Movement Continues: Retromags Gets First Issue of Game Informer

First Issue of Game Informer

(geez, I hope this isn’t illegal)

Seriously, do we have time for more reto news? In the 21 Century we have become more retro than when we actually lived in the years we did this stuff in.

Does that make sence? lol

First seen on CrunchGear. Because of them, I now know that there is a whole forum based off of magazine covers that are from the 1999 and earlier.

As far as it being legal… why wouldn’t it be? scans of past magazine covers and article tib-bits that you make sure to reference illegal? Copywrite problems?

Architecture: Time To Retire In The Desert

Troon Village - Pic from Benn Hoffmann

Troon Village - Pic from Benn Hoffmann

Fortune magazine has come up with a list of 6 places to go get your retirement on. And then Forune decides that 6 places ISN’T ENOUGH!!! They also give you 12 real estate deals for retirement.

And since you are thinking about retirement, Fortune (I keep thinking Forbes for some reason when I type Fortune… hmmm) give you a list of stocks to retire on.

I say that makes things well rounded.

You Probably Already Saw This But… Kim Kardashian On The Cover Of Complex Green Issue

(now this is interesting…. green, green everywhere)

So this issue is going to be green h’uh? If it ends up being true, maybe  I will get one. Haven’t gotten a magazine in months, so I guess this will be the first.

As a side note, you know what I was wondering? How someone who we can see completely naked, having sex with someone else, can still be in the lime light? Remember it was not too long ago that if something like this happened it was the end of your career.

I was also thinking about how the line is blurring bewteen who is A list and who is B list and so forth. I think this is mainly due to the internet (social media) and those reality shows that are so  popular (they annoy me quite frankly for the most part)

Tatoos With Style: Check Out Rihanna’s Tattoos

I love me some The.LIFE Files. I wish them well because people who are grown and sexy like the finer things, also like rap, also like to have fun, and also like a little gossip now and then too lol. Here we have Rihanna showing off the Tattoos that she can show you. I am not too much of a sexist (even though I am admitingly old school and I do open doors for the ladies), but I like women who don’t have the crazy tattoos all over their bodies. What Rihanna has is very smooth and even feminine. It also is sort of secretive too. She made some good choices when it came to the tattoos that we can see LMAO

The New Yorker Tries To Be Funny

In order to be truly grown and sexy, between buying the right fashion and tech toys while being the quintessential business professional (or owner), you have to be following the political front even if for a little bit. So you must have came across this during the last few days:

I have to say that this election year can only get more interesting lol It will be even more interesting when we either get a really old guy for president or a black guy for president. 2009 will be the year to be in I suppose. Some real history is going to be made for all of us.

My opinion? Its a bit distasteful, but I am very much the thinker (sometimes to my detriment) and I immediately (well, after a second or 2) understood what was going on here. It was The New Yorker just pointing out irrational fears of who Obama is. Complete with the fist pound (and obvious terrorist/gang symbol of thuggery), picture of Osama Bin Laden on the wall with the USofA flag burning in the fire place, wife with retro 60’s/70’s afro (fight the power) and a gun on her back. She got the, “you go boy” look on her face and he got the, “I just hoodwinked you MF’s”

I guess I understand the uproar, but to me it was a satire and a very detailed one. Much like many political comic drawings seen on Slate.com (do a Google search for Political Cartoons), they tend to draw on the events of the times and have multiple meanings embedded in them. This cartoon is no different than those seen in the political cartoon circle and they can go for the jugular at times.

Nevertheless, I do believe they did go a little bit too far.

And if you think about how someone who is Muslim feels about this cartoon, it makes it worst.
