(now that is a big boat)
After seeing all the previews and the grand opening, I have to admit that I want to be on that boat. Personally I rather be on a smaller ship (like the ones that the Circle Line has in NYC) where I can see the water and the sky rather quickly and notice any problems coming along. Nevertheless, the Oasis (of which cost 1.2+ Billion dollars to build) makes me want to plan a trip for the family and go.
I am not a water kind of guy, but this may have me taking swimming lessons
Club med, L’Auberge De Sedona, Donovan House, USVirgin Islands… man, do you think Today Show is really hooking us grown and sexy up right here.
Vodpod videos no longer available.
Some great stuff here. makes me want to go on vacation right now. too bad I don’t have many days to take off… and the holidays are coming up so it will be just crazy hard to get a day off.
By the way, I will be doing some major updating here in the next month. Expect that if you are a regular visitor that you will be able to come here and see some specific things. For example, starting next month (and you may see some examples of this already) I will be posting most of my politically related stories on Sundays. Another example is that anything that has to do with autos will most likely be posted on Tuesdays. This will be a general rule but not always followed.
There will also be updates to the detail pages and more channel posts for those who just want to stop by on specific days to watch/read specific stuff. The same thing will be happening to my twitter channel of which will be sub-divided very shortly (general, lifestyle + travel, politics, tech and IMPORTANT
I am also VERY SLOWLY developing a site that is based off of what I am doing here but will be more large scale and more community based. More info on that as it comes.
Now playing: M.I.A. – Paper Planes
(this better be on a very placid lake)
(and don’t have an earthquake)
Seven House Boats That You May Want To Look At
(now that’s a view!!!)
Now of course why would I want to live in a regular house when I can live in this? Talk about a water mansion! And it only gets better at Dubia:
The island of Nurai is one of the latest of Dubai developments to catch the fancy of foreign visitors and potential investors. While much of the expansion of Dubai has slowed there is still an enormous amount of money moving through it. The residences shown here (above) feature bridge-only accessibility, rooftop decks complete with private pools and countless other luxurious amenities (source Dornob)
(but what exactly are you going to see underwater in the murky Hudson?)
Now this is luxury traveling. If they really do it I will definitly be going to see it and use it. Here is a quote from Curbed.com:
As expected, the Hudson River Park Trust designated Youngwoo & Associates as the developer to turn Pier 57 at 15th Street into a rip-roaring New York City waterfront attraction—one that can generate some revenue for the upkeep of Hudson River Park. We’re cautiously optimistic! It’s not that we don’t enjoy theYoungwoo bid, with its green space, canoe docks, Tribeca Film Festival venue and “Underwater Discovery Center.”
I WILL be taking pictures of this if they build it. Head over to Curbed for more shots if you want of the rednerings.
(and there is more)
And it only gets better!!! Video and more pictures coming up later next week.
STAY TUNED lol
(can this be the future way to touch space?)
I will admit that I really want to take a look at Earth from what may be at a almost orbit close to space. There is something sexy and cool about being able to see much of the Earth curves, shapes of countries, and the deep blue sea. It would make a great romantic getaway.

(now thats FREAKIN scary)
And I quote:
When the Manhattan Bridge was first built, it contained a huge engineering flaw. Because the four subway tracks — two on the south side and two on the north — were built on the outside of the bridge as opposed to the center, the bridge would sway as the heavy trains drove back and forth between Brooklyn and Manhattan. As trains — and people — grew heavier, so did the stress on the bridge.
WTF??? While I was watching the video, I was trying to figure out what was making the bridge dip like that. Bridges natually move, but that dip had to be at least one foot. Watch the cllip carefully and you will see tht it only dips like that when the train is going by (you can see it better when day turns into night).
I wonder if people know the bridge is doing that while they cross it?
(this is one awesome park)
(now go watch the video!!!!) Continue reading
The Acropolis Museum is an archaeological museum focused on the findings of the archaeological site of the Acropolis of Athens. The museum was built in order to house every artifact found on the rock and on its feet, covering a large period of time, from the Greek Bronze Age to Roman and Byzantine Greece but lies also on the archaeological site of Makrygianni, ruins of a part of Roman and early Byzantine Athens.
I am totally wanting to see this museum. I wish I go to museums more. I hope to change that this summer (too bad I don’t know enough people who would like to go to museums).
